Yep, just make sure you don't use canned food with fish in it.

Y use canned kitten food, fresh kittens would make better food IMO
but seriously i wouldnt add anything to it most already have supplements in them and adding more can be bad IMO.
Dust insects, pinkies, fish and whatever other natural foods with supplements if u want to. i only supplement plain meats(chicken, fish and cow flesh) when feeding my monitors.

If you are going to add supplements then just feed them chicken or turkey mince with the supplements mixed in, along with a variety of other foods, such as chopped mice or pinkies, boiled egg, crix, woodies etc.. I find my monitors prefer turkey over chicken although both will be eaten, just that turkey goes much faster. LOL

I am not sure but I think it has something to with the oils in it, it is somthing in the fish that's not good for them, can't remember what. Why would you want to feed them fish anyway? If you are worried about what to feed them, then just give them insects and mice with some calcium and give them plenty of heat and UVB.

Try breeding roaches Rep-Style, after the initial setup costs, you only need to pay for one bag of carrots per fortnight, and you might use half a cup of cat/dog biscuits per day, depending on how large your colony is. They are extremely low maintenance, 60 seconds per day to feed them and 10-15 mins cleaning out the cage once per month. Too easy.

Better still, quit your job, buy a roach coach, get income from the business, and harvest the cockies on the side. Even simpler.

I give my monitors roo meat as a change of diet. They looove it. I still dust 1 feed a week. The main food source usually consists of crix, roaches, eggs (raw) and rat pups.

I purchased 400g of woodies from Herp Shop two years ago and put them in a 140 ltr tub with a fluxon coverage around the rim. I have only just had to buy another 400g of roaches to replenish stock. They are very simple to maintain and breed. There is plenty of info on breeding roaches within APS - just do a search.

Dog / Cat food is good for emergencies, however I would NOT use it on a regular basis, too many preservatives etc for my liking. - JMO
