feeding hatchlings

I have fed my hatchling twice since I got it. Both times it has come out slow looked at the food (I wiggle it a little so it looks alive) and grabbed the pinkie really gently. Does anyone else's do this?

RE: feeding hatchlings

my childreni used to open her mouth and wait for me to push it in

she would actually allow me to almost push the hole pinkie in until she decided to do any work. Talk about spoon fed

she actually grabs the food now that shes on rat pups

RE: feeding hatchlings

You will find that if you end up owning a lot of snakes that their feeding responses will be quite different to each other.I have some of the most placid carpets but come feeding time make sure you have tongs etc as they hit hard. Some others i literally have to slap em around before they respond and constrict...just like us ,snakes are all individuals!!!
