Hi I have a 2 month old Childrens python and a month old stimi, now they are both in the process of shedding there skin. Is it a good idea to offer food at this stage or better wait until they have shed?
Thanks.

Livewire, even though some eat while shedding, its best not to do so, specially if they are in the final stages. It can make it very hard for them to remove the shed over the food item in their stomachs.

She'll eat morning, noon and night and would still probably take down something even during a shed if I let her Greedy thing!!! Best to wait if you can, otherwise it's a night in front of the tele with a snake soaking in a bowl of warmish, mildly soapy water |

Thanks guys, i'll just wait. I guess they can last a while without food, and there pretty fat so i guess they would have fat reserves they can survive on for a few days.

JMO, It would be cruelty to feed them b4 a slough, it would stress them out trying to shed over that. They are oppertunistic feeders and probably will take it, but they certainly will regret it the next day.........Wait till after, they can go months and months without food.

Well, i guess if you don't ask you won't know. I'm glad I asked, now I know. So I won't be making that mistake.
