Finally got the snake bug - Advise needed

Hi All,

Firstly would like to say what a good site you all have going on here.
Plenty of info and facts on our countries reptiles.

After watching and handling my mates pythons over the last few years i've finally decided that I would like to keep one as a pet myself.

I've been lucky enough to score one of his families spare vivariums (A picture has been attached below).

The measurements are 900 (W) x 750 (D) x 500 (H).

I was really interested in a Bredli Python (As most people recommend them as good beginner snakes) but after researching a bit more on this site I now beleive that my tank doesn't have the right height for a Bredli as they require heigher tanks so that they can climb.

Could you guys please recommend a few decent beginner snakes that would suit the vivarium that I have.

I believe that the Spotted Pythons and Childrens Pythons will suit the enclosure as they are ground dwelling pythons but are there any others ???

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Daniel

That sized enclosure would likely see a bredli out for 2 years or so..

You really need to decide how big you want the snake to get, rather than how big is the enclosure, my diamonds started in 600 X 600 X 400, they are now in 1200 x 1200 x 600.
If you only want something to put in that enclosure then I suggest childrens,or spotted.
