Finished enclosure, yay!

After working all week after work, and the last two day all day, I've finished one of my two enclosures I'm working on. The other just needs to be wired up and sealed on the inside and then it's done as well.

The enclosures are 16mm melamine, 900x600x600mm. I've wired in a 24" fluro (with an arcadia UV tube) and a Dalbard light cage with a 60watt ceramic heat emitter. I'll be getting a 100w ceramic heat emitters as soon as they're back in stock at my work. I figured a 60w is better than nothing for now!

Wiring is pretty simple, but works REALLY nicely. The fluro and the heat are both wired into the double switch unit. from there, the fluro is wired into the digital inline timer, and the cord for the heat just hides in the mounting block. The digital timer is used like a junction box, leading to a single power cord to plug into the wall. My thermostats will show up next week, and then they'll be wired to the heat by using the timer as a junction for that cord. All up it's a really smooth system, the digital timer has an internal battery in case the power goes out, it will keep it's time and settings. =)

The glass tracks are aluminium, with nylon ball bearings. They're not omg amazing or anything, but they allowed for thick 6mm glass, and they run semi-smoothly.

Anyways, yay! Finished enclosure! In one of the pictures you can see my snakes current wooden enclosure, and the other unfinished enclosure. I currently have the heat on in the new tank to help cure the silicon sealing ASAP.

Rosequoll, Great job on the enclosure, Just a quick question though, where did you get the glass track from? I need that sort of stuff to finish off my new enclosure which is 1800 high X 1200 Wide and 600 deep, the glass needs that sort of assistance because it wont run on the normal plastic stuff with the weight.
Thanks

Looks good. Whats the ball like things in the glass track? Does that help the glass move or is it to stop little snakes from getting in there?

I'm planning on putting a cover on the fluro, yes. I'd be ordering it NOW but the herpshop website is down??? It sucks, because I really want to add them to my order with the thermostats. Oh well. =/

The fluro doesn't get very hot at all. I think with a cage around it, it should be fine. I'll keep an eye on it though and definitely move it to the cieling of the enclosure if it's getting too hot on the surface of the cage.

They help the glass roll better, yup! I may go down to the warehouse and get more of the nylon ball bearings later. They're 9 cents a piece (ARG) so i only got enough to do about 60% of the track, I'll get another 200 or so later to fill up the track.

Don't mind me asking how much it set you back? As this is something I'm looking to do shortly.

I just pulled a heap of door rollers apart to get the ball bearings out so my glass would run, took ages not too mention the wasted door rollers(hope my boss not a member)
