First Herp

Troy Here,I would like to get a water python for my first snake but I have heard that you must keep the enclosure humid. Is this correct?

They can have shedding problem's if kept to dry, you just need a large water bowl. They are normally good eaters though most (not all) are a little snappy for a first snake. Would have to be one of my favorite Oz pythons.

sons of satan? nah. mine is about 2 months old and was VERY snappy at first but is noticably calmer now. feeds very well and looks great. have heard it said that qld forms are less snappy than NT forms (that is prob BS). they are a beautiful snake and should be kept like a carpet python. good luck, here is a pic of mine (colour is a bit washed out cos of flash)

Each snake will be different...so just be brave when listening to people saying that they are snappy and take a chance. :p

My water python is just fantastic. He was VERY snappy at first but this is a good sign... means he's healthy! I've heard that females are a lot more snappy then males, especially in their cages (in general) but every snake will be different. Mine is QLD form and is lovely. But my friends female at times can be a little snappy apparantly... but i love to go and have a hold she's fantastic to look at and interact with too!

Water pythons are awesome!

im new to water pythons, but it seems to me that mine is alot more active and alert than my morelia sp. this may be why they are considered more snappy.
with sensible handling a hatchy will prob outgrow that behaviour.

At least he sounds like an interesting little thing! He'll give you hours of enjoyment and lots of battle wounds to show for it! It's his sign of affection perhaps
