My first jungle clutch was laid yesterday by one of my favourite animals.
It was quite early (only 20 days after prelay) but sadly I think that was her response to a tumor in her upper jaw. A couple of days before she prelaid I noticed that she had a lump inside her mouth. The vet thought it was an abscess, but it didnt response to antibiotics and kept growing fast. He then removed it and pathology showed it was an untreatable tumor (myco-sarcoma cells). The tumor is so agressive that she now has another lump behind the eye and appears blind on that side. Sadly now that she has laid I will have her put down.
RIP Snatch...

Mell

Yeah it sure is bittersweet. I will defintely be keeping pair of the hatchlings to remember her by.
Surfcop, I doubt that the tumor will be passed down the line.

I feel for you having to put her down. As many members have written i hope that you are able to keep some hatchlings and they bring you many memories of what she was like.
