A pillowcase (turned inside out so no loose strings) with a knot tied in the top, inside a container with air holes. Container depends on the size of snake, small click clak from Wollies for a small one, Big tub for an adult.

Hope that helps.

i just brought my little hatchling home in a small click clack plastic tub with a light bulb box for a hide. he was fine. i held it to my body to warm it a bit and so he could start to smell me that seemed to work fine

Pete, the breeder should really supply the sex of the animal purchased. See if they can do it when you pick him/her up. Also make sure you get feeding and sloughing records. Good luck with your first Python! Nothing beats the feeling of getting your first!!
