glass for enclosure

hi guys,
for those of you that
make your own enclosures
where do you guys usually
buy your glass and how much
should i expect to pay.

Depends on the size. I go to my local bloke that fits/fixes all the windows in houses. I get some off cuts about the size I need and then get him to cut it down. Only pay about $10 for his time. I don't know if everyone is that lucky, but ask for off cuts and you will get it cheaper because they only chuck it out anyway.

Look up your yellow pages and you will find heaps of guys round your area that "cut glass to size". Go there and give them the size and they will cut it for you. Some of them can cut in finger grooves and stuff like that as well.

Best thing to do is shop around as prices vary, I normally pay around the $20 mark for glass that is 600mm x 338mm and 5 mm thick which is then cut in half and the edges sanded for safety. But i have been quoted as high as $60 (what rip off).
