have a question
is it possible for a young eastern water dragon about 15cm snout to vent length to be gravid at this time of the year.

| | Regular Member | Join Date: Jul-06 Location: mornington peninsula,vic Age: 33 | | | | is it keep indoors??????i guess it isnt impossible,but is againnst the grain,they usually lay there 2 clutches per year in november,then dec/jan but it depends on alot of things,its obviously a young one,ive had beardeds lay there first clutches in april at 9 months of age with out being cooled over there first winter,and all the eggs hatched,may i ask why u suspect its possably carrying eggs??? |

thanks for replying, yeah its a young one, just i noticed shes getting quite large in the abdominal area and is basking as late as possible nowadays while the other goes to hide it is still up basking. i also palpated her abdomen and it felt like it could be eggs, but am skeptical. the one it is with is supposed to be a female and is older and larger and yes they are kept inside. its just seems to dam small to have eggs plus its way out of season

| | Regular Member | Join Date: Jul-06 Location: mornington peninsula,vic Age: 33 | | | | i find its hard to feel eggs in the sometimes,but fattness can be a sign,but could just means its pigged out with the weather cooling down a bit,preping for brumation,do they live outdoors or inside, my trio of easterns live outside year round in melbourne,there still popping out of late as well,the weather has been really average |
