i work on a banana farm in north QLD, we get lots of GTS coming through the shed we also get loads of blue ones to, for wild snakes they are amazing the smaller ones will tolerate you holding them and climb freely over your hands till you put them back out in the paddock, the bigger ones and the blues ones are quite stroppy but still beautiful. i would love one oneday. i think they would be well worth the money

ah yes. i really should look up what the difference between the diff groups are. are colubrids dangerous in any way (or moreso than a python). also why the big price difference?

colubrids vary, some have venom some have nothing.

Most are completely harmless to humans, i believe all australians colubrids of all the ones that have venom none are considered dangerous to humans.

to my knowledge after finding a GTS the other day they are colubrids but have solid rear fangs and are completely harmless its the BTS that have a mild venom that is considered non threatening to humans. but please correct me if i'm wrong

your righ actually, the GTS (its actuall name is common tree snake as there are a few variations in colour) i think it has rear fangs but no venom at all where as the BTS does have a small amount of venom but it is still harmless to humans. all the australian colubrids are harmless to humans and only a few as far as i know have venom. its our elapids you have to worry about and even a few of those arent considered killers to humans.

Green tree snakes are harmless, will bite but not inclined to. And are very timid in the wild.
Brown tree snakes, night tigers will bite and bite and bite and are more aggressive than almost every snake I have come across in the wild.
This is just my experience.
