even for dead ones ? just wondered because over here we're allowed to feed anything to snakes aslong as its dead (been killed humanely).

guinea pigs sculls are to hard for snakes to pass and can in some instance kill your snake

I've seen guinea pigs being sold frozen as snake food. It's my understanding that they have a high percentage of body fat and as such aren't a popular food source.

I'd say that just depends on what the guinea pig was fed, and you wouldnt feed the same type of food for the whole of the snakes life.
But i'd be very interested to hear from anyone thats had problems feeding guinea pigs to snakes.

Well i do know someone that feeds his adult diamond pythons guinea pig every now and then I don't think he has any problems why I started this post was I breed my own rats and mice for my snakes now my larger diamond is now onto adult rats and its becoming a problem as i don,t have enough because my smaller carpets are eating all my weaned rats before they can grow big enough for my larger snake I was just wondering if I started breeding guinea pigs as well would they be fine for the larger snake for a while until i can expand my breeding stock up enough to cater for my ever growing reptile collection

Thats weird I was just ringing around to try and find some guinea pigs for this reason.
I have heard that quite a few keepers feed GP's to their pythons.

we breed them to feed them to our larger pythons, never had a problem. We used to breed rabbits but since moving to QLD had to buy them in instead. we also feed ducks, chooks, rats and rabbits and even in leaner times have fed then chicken necks. I like to vary their dieat as much as possible.
