Im pretty sure its the same effect as a human "siamese" twin. The egg doesnt separate wholly leaving 2 animals conjoined with sometimes one body, or 2 bodies yet joint. The head area of the eggs is usually the first to separate due to the brain being needed to run the body that is separating, therefore the heads are usually there but the bodies dont develop.
Any thoughts on my theory?

I think the snake looks awfully healthy and can see no reason to destroy it, if it wouldn't or couldn't feed and was being kept alive then yes but this snake seems very 'happy' with it's lot in life.
Yes Teamsherman that's sounds plausible.

*shrugs* maybe it can live a "normal" life, maybe not, I certainly wouldnt want to live like that.
Let nature take it course'? sounds well enough, bit hard to know how it/they feel though. Good luck to it, i think.

We do our best to let humans with defects live, so why not with animals??
| Because we think humans are special and do stupid things to help them survive. Animals are treated better.

No it's not hereditary so cannot be passed onto any offspring.

I think it should be euthanaised, it may be ok at this stage but there are very few survival rates of this sort of thing and I would imagine it would be an unpleasant death. IF it is so healthy then why do most if not all siamese twins die at an early age. Quote:

| Couldn't agree more. People should be allowed the choice to have their live terminated at their decision, if they can make it, which, most are incapable of.

Why do people want to kill it?
How is it suffering?
Do you really think it has the awareness that it has anything wrong?
For all we know it is happy as Larry, & may live a long and healthy life.
