| | | Heat Cord vs Ceramic Heat Emitter Hello.
If you wanted to maintain a temperature of around 28 degrees celcius inside a normal sized bedroom cupboard, would a 9 meter 80 watt heat cord do the trick? Or would a 150 watt heat emitter be better? Or would neither get a space that size to the required temp.
I have never seen or used either of these items and have no idea what kind of heat they give off.
Thanks for any info |

The heat cord would be more convenient as it uses less power and can be attached to the walls with cable clips, also no wiring is required. What do you intend to use this heated cupboard for?

Yeah, i am going to use a thermostat.
So they do give off a lot of heat then. Thats good. If i had no thermostat and just left it running all day, how hot roughly would an 80 watt 9meter heat cord make the cupboard?
I am using the cupboard to incubate mycelium. (Mushroom spores) |

insulation, dimensions, ventilation etc...
I dont think anyone could give you a answer
you would need to just do it and find out..

Yeah, i realized it was a bit of a guessing game, i was just wondering on roughly how much heat a cord gets. I recieved a reply elsewhere saying that the cords get to around 36 degrees so i am guessing it would take a fair while for the cord to heat that kind of space up which is a bummer becuase i will be opening the cupboard twice a day which would let the heat out and it would take a while for the cord to heat it back up.
Are ceramic heat emitters more powerful than a cord?
Or is there some other kind of heater i could use for this kind of thing?
And why do people line their chambers with aluminium foil? Does it keep the heat in?
Thanks again | | |
