1) I am planning on using those simple reflector globes from woolworths and was wondering if i would nedd more than 1 too heat the enclosure sufficiently?
2) Is night time heating essential?

I use flourescents for lighting, as they don't give out much heat, so the heat is easy to control and you can still view whenever you want. MHO. |

Don't know if I was just unlucky or maybe it's the brand but I am considering going with the normal reflector globes. But then again I bought a 60W of the same brand and it has been going for months.
So how many of these globes would be needed for a 4x2x2 foot enclosure and is it possible to paint them red or blue yourself.
Cheers.

| | | | You can get ceramics from any one of the reputable online dealers which are made by pearlco and they are cheap, and last for years. I got mine for $30 if i recall correctly, but yeah, as LutzD said, they are well worth the buy also IMO.
In my 4x2x2 i have only one 150w ceramic running off a THAT040 plug and play thermostat and it has no problems keeping a warm end at 35C and a cool end at 25C. The snake inside is a 7.5 foot coastal and he seems to love his home.
Cheers, Alan. |
