Im off to cairns for two weeks in a couple of months and was wondering what can i see herp wise up there, good petshops, zoo's etc
even if you have done something really fun up there not herp related would be good to hear about that too.

|  | Regular Member | Join Date: Oct-06 Location: newcastle Age/Gender: 15  | | | | hey i was up around cairns a couple of months ago the venom zoo in kurunda is a great pleace for all those ven sp all so cairns zoo is good you must go to the aj hacket bunjie jumping thing its great fun, its scuba diving lession are also cheaper there than any where i have looked i got my licence thingy there its a 3 or 4 day course but well worth it they take you out to all the different reefs around there also if your up to the extra drive go to the daintree wonderfull place for herps when we were there we seen 5 bts keel backs heaps of frogs, scrub pythons, boyds forest dragons and plenty of geckos.

|  | Regular Member | | | | | Lots to do here,cairns tropical zoo or hartleys crocodile adventures,petshops here are not going to impress you I think.And it is hot as hell right now,ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.But all good.Drives,well,the drive to port douglas is nice,hugs the coast line.Night driving to see herps,lake morris road,up kuranda and roads going out that way.

The rainforest dome on top of the casino was really good (esp if you like parrots as well-i had the black cocky follow me around on both ocassions i was there).
If you like a bit of adventure go sea kyaking over at Fiztroy island where we stopped for lunch mon little fiztroy island they have a resident goanna lots a little skinks aswell.
if you wanna go diving and you don't have your certificate head out on the FALLA they are awsome
