Question Help About heat cord

Hi every one i have a newbe question about what to do with the unused part of the heat cord
I have a shelf that has been routed out to take the heat cord at one end and it takes up about one meter of the cord witch leaves about two meters .
there is no instructions on the packet
dont know wether to roll it up or leave it straight dose it matter ?
I am setting up for my blonde Mac hatchy .
hope to have it very soon cant wate.

I've heard (from advice on here) you shouldn't allow a heat cord to double over on itself. Not really sure about that but I don't want to risk a short circuit or something! I just let it hang from the back of the container.

If you roll it up on itself it will melt and may cause a fire

For a hatchy blonde mac you will be better off keeping it in a small secure plastic tub(click clack) and just run 1 length of the cord under one end. For the heat cord get a 4m 15 watt cord as these dont get too hot and can be used without a thermostat, higher wattage cords can however get too hot without a thermostat.

I tried to see if i could get a 15 watt cord to catch fire by squashing it into a ball and i couldnt even get it to melt plastic. I would still recommend you try to avoid it coiling on itself just to be on the safe side.

What watt is the cord ??
You can run a few extra grooves, just keep them tight.
As you get some more tubs, simply increase the cord length by cutting out a groove.
See ya soon.........................
