herp room layout

in the event of snake sitting for a friend at the end of the year, i would need to put her bredli, which is in a 4ft tank, in the same room as my pygmy bearded dragons. as i'm sure that the bredli would love to eat the dragons, do i just need them out of the snakes eyeline, would he smell them regardless or am i being paranoid? what does everyone think about this in there own herp rooms? how do you take this into account when designing a herp room? do you think that my fish aquarium if in the same room as say... a water python or green tree snake is asking for trouble? how close is too close? at the moment i don't have my reptiles in the same room, i would love to hear from people who have,.

We have our stimmys and geckos in the same room and they don't seem bothered by each other. You could tape paper to the outside of the tanks to stop them from seeing each other but I don't think that snakes can see very well so it shouldn't be a problem.

my bredls totaly ignores the my beardies, and the beardise watch him with interest when hes out and cruising around near them, but dont react in any threateneing or defensive ways, so i dont think he bothers them. THey should be fine in the same room.
my 4 girls live in teh same room as the bredls, they boy beardy stresses the hell out of them so hes in the bedroom.

I have all the beardies stacks in the same room as some of the pythons. They only see the pythons when I get them out to clean the enclosures, and they don't like it at all.

At first they all flatten themselves and then freeze, then one starts running and it sets them all off and before I know it I've got twenty panicked beardies throwing themselves at the back walls!

I also have to make sure that the male beardies aren't within eyeshot of the females. If I have one out on the floor whilst changing the newspaper a ferocious head bobbing display starts followed by some very worried looking females arm waving and slow head bobbing.

Having said that the pythons couldn't care less about the beardies, even the womas don't show the slightest bit of interest. I have a feeling that might change if all the locks and glass was removed though, hehehe!
