Hi all,
I am trying to track down a dodgy seller. Someone who stole photographs of two Womas and used them on an ad for two different Womas (presumably because the pictures looked prettier than the snakes for sale).
Now, I'm not saying that the person who advertised the snakes in Herp Trader ad 711-702 have anything to do with this, but knowing who that seller is might help me to work out who the dodgy seller is. No, I'm not saying that the person who advertised a pair of Womas in ad 711-702 is dodgy, no no, not at all, but if anyone knows who that seller is, please email me - extatosoma@hotmail.com

There was obviously something up with that ad. The pair were advertised at $1500!

The photographs weren't taken by me, but I did own the snakes at one stage (the ones in the pictures). The pictures are quite old but even at the time didn't begin to do justice to the snakes. Funnily, they're older than three and aren't Tanami Womas, but hey, the picture is old, what's the chance of anyone recognising it?

Why not go under cover and contact the purchaser as if you were interested in them? Then you could be secret agent Sdaji!

If the Womas in the pictures were up for grabs at that price I'd have jumped straight on to them, I dearly miss those snakes and it hurts to think about them. It's a shame that people do that, it brings down the value of the snakes in the pictures, which isn't fair on the people who actually own them. Any old pair of Womas will fetch $1,500, so you really have to wonder why the seller chose to use a misleading ad.

They are "sold".
Although you could msg him saying you are willing to pay a higher price. And if he is willing to sell them to you, you will know if they are dodgy.

I suppose I could have used a false name, but deceiving the folks who run it wouldn't have felt right. The snakes are now sold (I always wonder if buyers notice that their snakes don't actually match the pictures! How can they not?) and the details won't be given out, but hopefully someone will know the buyer and/or seller and can let me know.

With picture theft being so common now (often no one even notices), it's surprising that so many people still complain about watermarking.

I would have paid $1500.00 for them in a heartbeat. Bet the buyer is disappointed.

Hopefully the buyer was interstate and hasn't yet paid for them, hopefully they see this thread before they send the money. Otherwise, there is going to be one very unhappy customer out there. I've had pictures stolen from me before and used in other peoples' ads. It amazes me that there are sellers with so little integrity, it amazes me that so many people continue to do this - don't people realise what has happened when they look at the animals they bought? Don't they yell and scream at the seller? For certain, this goes to show that reputations mean nothing in our hobby-turned-industry, which is very, very sad

Sdaji, I saw that ad and thought they were very nice Womas for $1500, they should be that price each. I am not at all surprised it happens to be honest, this hobby is full of petty, small minded unscrupulous people happy to steal photo's or actual animals, spread rumours and try to drag down others. It just seems to be the way it is nowadays which is very sad.
The photo's were there when I first looked and they weren't sold.
