Heading up to the Port in a couple of weeks for a friends wedding and just wanting to know if anyone can point me in the right direction for a bit of herping? I will of course be checking out Mossman Gorge but am on a very tight time restraint and only have two days up my sleeve so any local advise would be much appreciated.

Mossman gorge is full of skinks, very very cool I tell you.
I found Lake Placid in Cairns heavily populated with monitors (see the thread A herping we will go...)
I also would highly recommend the Cairns Tropical Zoo and be their before 10am for the reptile show.
The Daintree (further up the coast) is well populated with crocs etc.
There's heaps of bush walks local in Port and Cairns. All very worth it. Some easy access and heavily flooded with herps.
I even found walking up the creek that runs behind JC Uni to be well inhabited by all sorts including death adders.

I saw Saw-shell Turtles in Mossman Gorge when I was there last year.
If you want to see Sea Turtles, then a day trip to Green Island would be good.
