Herps for 8yo?

My little brother wants to get a reptile.
Seeing as I've already got a couple of beardies, I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of what else would make a good first for an 8 year old?
He wants a water dragon, but last time I had one of them it didn't go so well, and he was quite aggressive. Is this normal or just this particular one's temprement?
Would appreciate the input greatly

I've found water dragons to have nervous natures. Never seen an aggressive one, but they can get to a size where they can do a bit of damage if they were to bite. They also might be a bit active for an 8 year old.

Ive always had alot of trouble bringing myself to handle blue tounges lol.
Have always been afraid of them, not sure why
I suppose from a young age it'd be alot more adjusted to particular people.
Thanks for the input

Id say a Beardy - Black Soil Pygmy Beardy to be exact. Great Beardy temperament and its half the size or a turtle, they cant bite until they are adult which is another 2-3yrs and he'll be 10-11yo then. And they dont bite unless your hand looks edable in the water. Either way someone will have to supervise him and help clean enclosures. Both reasonably priced too. Turtle or Pygmy Dragon!

Ive got 2 beardies at home, and I've been trying to find black soils, but I can;t seem to come by them anywhere!
If you know of anyone with hatchies, that'd be appreciated
Ive kept turtles before, Im not really a fan of them, one of my friends bites like nothing else, and every turtle I've had have just been pains.
Theyre not very loving, interesting creatures
