I use logs for my enclosures that are inside, and I use logs and foam boxes in the outside enclosure.

I have one male coastal who hides under the fake grass in his enclosure, I hardly ever see him.

I dont think the snakes care what it is made of, just as long as they feel secure. JMO.

cardboard boxes, or if she dont like them try putting at least 15 or more layers of paper down in a manner that enables her to get under,( I always put a layer or two flush on the bottom that they cant get under), and you should find she will love it. Only trouble is you may rearly see her, but this is a good thing if she stresses heaps.

I use a few different types plus they have the option of going uder a good few layers of newspaper as The Rock does and yeah you hardly ever see them except at night.Cardboard boxes don't look tops but they work really well and you can throw them away"no cleaning"

Have you given the choice of a few hides at different spots in your enclosure?

I'm the same. Cardboard boxes mostly-shoe boxes, floppy disk boxes etc. Ice cream containers work well too and they are easy to clean. Bird breeding boxes work well also.

I just used what I can find around the place.

hides

Have you tryed offering a hide up high .Being an airboreal python .Most of my adult climbers will never use ground hides .But will allways use an airboreal hide when offered.anyway its worth a try.And use hides just big enought .The tighter they fit into there hide. The happyer they are and the less stress they are put under. And the lower the stress to the python the easyer it is to maintain as a happy caged animal. regards SHANE FROM aussie_pythons
