i have a female carpet that refuses to use them i have used terracotta pots a fav of all my snakes a log a shoe box a cheap plastic box from bunnings and various other stuff but she hates them all and is starting to stress a little so any one got some idears? |

I have one male coastal who hides under the fake grass in his enclosure, I hardly ever see him.
I dont think the snakes care what it is made of, just as long as they feel secure. JMO. |

|  | Regular Member | | | | | cardboard boxes, or if she dont like them try putting at least 15 or more layers of paper down in a manner that enables her to get under,( I always put a layer or two flush on the bottom that they cant get under), and you should find she will love it. Only trouble is you may rearly see her, but this is a good thing if she stresses heaps. |

Have you given the choice of a few hides at different spots in your enclosure?

I just used what I can find around the place.

|  | Sponsor | Join Date: Jan-05 Location: western suburbs of sydney Gender:  | | | | hides Have you tryed offering a hide up high .Being an airboreal python .Most of my adult climbers will never use ground hides .But will allways use an airboreal hide when offered.anyway its worth a try.And use hides just big enought .The tighter they fit into there hide.The happyer they are and the less stress they are put under.And the lower the stress to the python the easyer it is to maintain as a happy caged animal. regards SHANE FROM aussie_pythons |
