neither is big enough for full grown adult imo. be ok for smaller species maculosa or childreni.
my opinion only. bear in mind snakes dont generally do alot anyway, not like it'll be slithering laps.

well what size would be big enough remeber female diamond pythons normally stay on the ground its normally the males that like to climb i was thinking of a 5ft enclosure but that would cost $595 dollars and thats not encluding shipping and i don't know how to build one

You got this diamond today right? You now are worrying about the cage size for her when she is an adult?
Cross that bridge when you come to it, it's a long long way off yet.

I don't know who told you female diamonds don't like climbing, every diamond male and female i have kept was almost always off the ground in the branches.
I have to say i haven't heard that one before.

Is the diamond going to be just your pet or are u getting it for breeding purposes? If ur pet go beserk if for breeding then just do enough to make sure the snakes requirements are met (size height depth) for that species else u will soon run outa space for cages.

Spotted. There seems to be a lot of different ideas about enclosure size. But most people seem to suggest giving your diamond the height to climb.

I would probably build enclosures big enough for adult pythons straight away. But what I would ( & do now ) is temporarily divide them up into 4 or 8 & as the snakes get bigger just take out the divisions.

I seemed to spend a lot of money buying & making bigger & bigger enclosures as the pythons got bigger.
Cheers Buggie.

and 1200 is almost 4ft and 600 is almost 2ft so the 1200x600x600 is 4ftx2ftx2ft
