Lightbulb How do i get a job working with snakes?

Im a new herper love my snakes and reptiles and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how id go about finding someone who'd pay me to play/look-atfer snakes and or reptiles? aside from the obvious like the zoo or the reptile park, which i'd love to do BUT i live in Ingleburn western sydney, hell of a hike to either of those.

Any ideas would be great cheers

pet shops in NSW dont sell snakes yet, but if you wanted to work with animals that might be an idea. or else you could find someone who relocates snakes for a living and tag along with them and soak up knowledge. another suggestion... animal shelter, not sure how many snakes go there but another animal place. other than that possibly an education centre that deals with educating people on reptiles. cant think of any thing else other than that sorry.

No-one is going to pay you to ''play'' with snakes.

Theres breeding, working with them in a pet shop, reptile photographing.
Myself, im 13 but i'm looking at being a reptile photographer(I dont know what money is involved).
After watching Austen stevens most dangerous, i've fell in love with reptiles and i thought i could try the photographing.
But i'm gonna try breeding first.

Hope this helps.

I fully intend on joining wires, just gotta wait for a course near me. I also intend on breeding my coastals but they are gonna need another year or two before the male is big enough.

As i said im new to herping only got my first snake 4 months ago, now between my wife and i we have 2 coastals, 2 beardies a blue tounge and a sand swimmer and many more on the way....(its addictive)

So my knowledge aint all that great at the mo but i'm keen to learn. Any big breeders out there need a hand caring for thier collection? Ill work part time for next to nothing so long as im learnig...

Thanx for the ideas so far peeps

REPTILE CARE
Full time position , must have experience in playing with wild caught tiapans, and komodo dragons. And not be worried about being bitten, (antivenom not available) company push bike with no brakes supplied.
Pays top Dollar , guaranteed never will have to work again. No time wasters

Wish you well on you endevour, BUT anyone with a large collection will not let others
handle or "play" with thier reps, there is a huge quarantine issuse involved and its not worth the
risk to his or her collection.

LMAO..........sounds like the job of my dreams............. except i hate push bikesRBB.........i get to handle snakes most times of the year why dont you apply for a DML with your national parks n wildlife you are taught how to handle snakes and to catch and relocate the species correctly you will learn alot doing this its not a job that pays well but you can charge a call out fee i charge an initial fee of $50.00 and every 10km outside the radius i charge an extra $10.00 you will be working with all species so if the venomous are not your cup of tea then maybe you need to look into working at wildlife parks or zoos .........goodluck RBB

Exactly what I was thinking. There are people who have been involved with snakes their whole lives and still can't survive on money they could possibly get from a paid job working with reptiles.
