The more you feed the faster they grow and the more they shed.
7 weeks isn't really a big gap between sheds.

However if you feed him less frequently then it will take longer for him to grow and therefore longer to shed. Shedding revolves totally around the snakes growth.
Kylie, what temps is she in, was she being cooled by the owner for breeding? If so then she may be in brumation and therefore won't eat. If her temps are up, then does she have a hide box etc. as she may be settling in. Some of my newer adult aquasitions have taken well over a month to settle in, but once they do, they are fine.

Increase your feeding to every 4-5 days and he will put on plenty of size and will shed more often. However keep an eye on them to make sure they are active most of the time as some species will become obese if they don't "exercise" often enough.
