Doesn't matter food type, I feed mine what ever they can fit in their mouths, enough to leave a nice sized lump in their belly.

Snake wrangler, a pink rat is about the size of fuzzy mouse. Depending on the rat that gave birth of course.

If a pink rat is roughly the same as a fuzzy mouse then monty could easily handle two in one feed.

It can't hurt, I would try but that is my non-expert opinion.

This is Jake my male coastal, he is about 50cms long and the mouse is a 1 1/2 weeks old fuzzy. He is on fuzzies about half that size again.

Hi Jimmy,
I have only been doing this for just over a year, so if my thoughts aren't helpful then ignore them, likewise if anybody with better advice wishes please correct me.
I really believe when i got my first snake the advice i was given was inaccurate or i misunderstood it and i underfeed for a few months. What I do now is every few feeds i feed something i half suspect is too big and see if it is taken. If it is then 2 feeds later i offer 2 at this larger size. This has worked well for me. I have never had a snake burst lol, but once the food was taken but not consumed.
I arrived at this "method" based on a few assumptions, firstly that you cant overfeed a young python (any comments) and secondly when you spend as much time with your pythons as we do sometimes their growth can escape us and we dont realise they are growing up.
I was amazed how quickly my first python (dude) grew once i was feeding him right. Well I hope it's right he sure seems happy.
Anyway maybe this helps.
Cheers
Michael

I freaked the first time I watched my coastal eat a pinkie mouse . I thought for sure he wouldn't eat it, but sure enough he ate it no problems, so next feed was a fuzzy, again no problems, then I went onto 2 small fuzzies, stuck with this for two more feeds then offered the larger fuzzies, which is what he is on now and he takes it easy, I am thinking of doing the transistion from fuzzy mice to fuzzy rats the next time I upgrade his diet which will probably be after one more feed on the fuzzy mice, maybe I might even offer 1 fuzzy mouse and 1 fuzzy rat. Man snakes are such fun, I couldn't be without them now. I am getting a blond spotted python on saturday so I am all excited.

Some of my newer adult aquasitions have taken well over a month to settle in, but once they do, they are fine.
Some of mine have taken 6 months or more.

I believe that you should feed at most 10 feeds of any size food item before moving on to the next size, until they are at their adult size food item. My stimmies (5 months old) will take 4 day old rats (bit bigger than weaner mouse,) no problems and I'd guess that they are smaller than a hatchling coastal.
