How to properly hook a snake

Hi all, I have to pick up my 2, 7ft jungle pythons tommorow which havn't been handled in a long time and could possibly be aggresive. I have a snake hook that is around 35cm long that I use on my placid BHP and I will have to use it tommorow to get these jungles out of there enclosure. Can anyone tell me how to properly use it or what I should do, I've been practising on my BHP but that's pretty much hopeless seeing as though he's so very quite. I did noice though the way I"m doing it he can come back up at me, that's alright with him but I don't want these jungles to do that as I would prefer not to get bitten if possible lol. Can anyone give me any tips or show photo's etc thanks heaps

I should also note I'm not a experienced snake handler by any means, and the person I'm getting these jungles up off is terrified of snakes so won't be able to help me much.

I would suggest if you are not confident with the hook dont use it.
Ask the seller to turn the heat off.
approach the animal confidently dont hesitate, a pair if leather rigging gloves are good, Firmley but without crushing grasp the snake behind the head, dont squash, dont hesitate, then all you have to do is deal with the body length
you dont say whether it is a top opener or a side slider either way study your approach when you are ready go for it. straight in bag with the bag touching floor, I have found the animals less likely to climb out if their weight is on something solid.

Ok thanks, they are in fish tanks with a small opening at the top, so not a lot to work with. Wont they stike at me though when I go for the back of there head/neck. Also can they bite you when using a hook.

another option is menouvering them into a bag by using 2 hooks this worked well when i first started the hobby and was pertrified of getting bitten. hook them around the end of their body and around the neck if they co-operate they should be right to swiftly pull straight out and into a bag. this is if you have a second hook to use, p.s. use the longer hook for the head and keep it as far away from you as possible. i have found that with most snakes if you get them on the move as in get them moving away from you they become more interested and getting away rather than bitting. if they do start trying to attack you try to draw their attention to something else, if their aiming at you try to wake a spare hand it the opposite direction this can redirect their attention as they act on movement.

A 35cm hook isn't going to keep a 7ft snake from bitting you. I agree with raptor, if you hesitate the snake will know its got you bluffed but if you don't hesitate it will soon learn that a threat display and striking have no impact on you so it will stop behaving like that.
