Provide them with a water bowl they can swim in but you can also take out to clean. They will crap in the bowl. Water dragons dont need much extra heat in your area. Use a 26w screw in fluro for heat and UV. That way they have to bask under the UV to get heat. if you think it isn't warm enough you could add a small wattage heat mat under one end. Make sure they get close to the UV globe. They will dig under the water bowl so make sure it cant squash them. Buy yourself a small fake rock and make a hole in it do they can use that as their hide.
And dont forget that they can jump well so enusre they cant escape.

I will do a separate post about this later ... but ..... I had my first clutch of EWD's in 1990. I kept them in a 2 foot fish tank. I used river pebbles to make a land section and just filled the tank with water to about 3 inches. Over a three week period all of the dragons died. The reason they died is from a a disease (the name of which escapes me) that they get from basically consuming their own excrement (by drinking water they ahve crapped in). Your dragons WILL crap in their water. If they then drink that water they will be prone ot this disease. It is very hard to clean out the water in a fixed pond section of a fish tank. Put in a water bowl that they can get in and out of and you can easily remove for DAILY cleaning and water replacement.

| | Sponsor | | | | | Water dragons are the toughest lizards in australia. i live in victoria and we have frosts in winter and my dragons live outside all year, they need good hide spots, but they breed constantly in the summer to the point I cant incubate any more eggs. I had to many problems keeping them indoors. if you can build an outdoor enclosure. | | |
