How to tell if a blue tongue is pregnant

Hi everyone,

Was just wondering what is the best way to tell if a blue tongue is pregnant. Haven't bred them before - she is getting really fat and I did see them doing the deed but I am still unsure if she is just getting fat. Any help would be great!!

heya mazi, getting fatter is one way to tell, but they can get fat anyways, where do u keep them, inside or out,did u cool them over winter if kept inside, the best way for me to tell when they are gravid is to watch there breathing, obviously closer to the time there due to give birth is better, but u can usually see it before then, gravid females will breathe different to normal, ive found with mine that some get fat and u can tell by that but others that dont look fat at all but show the breathing thing produce babies to,depends on the individual,by breathing its more laboured compared to normal, like it stresses them more, hope that makes sense, lol,im in melbourne so my outdoors ones dont have babys till jan to april, same with my stumpys indoors, there usually in march, good luck with them

Their body swells up nice and firm. Always firm, never fat 'n' flabby.

Her breathing is different - I have noticed that it is kinda like a panting where you can actually see them breathing - it looks really wierd to me? They did have a cooling off period
