Ok so i just got my 1st snake, a Murray darling python (yearling), from ultimate reptiles in S.A.and i'v done everything they've said, e.g change from sand to bark, feed him weaner mice etc., and everything the pet shop guys (whom i get my equipment and food from) said.
Now hes very flighty and isn't feeding and i wondering is that just because hes in a new environment and needs to get use to it and having people gawking and trying to pat him and hes scared.
Please any and all advice appreciated

Leave him alone for a few weeks to settle in , only feed if you have to and change water ,other than that leave him and he should be right after he settles in for a while .

How long have you had it? Most people give their snakes time to settle into their new homes, like about a week or so before trying to handle it or feed it. It is hard to do with your first snake i know but sometimes it just has to be done

Not much... he may stop with time , most will get calmer with handling .
I would say he is very scared in the new enclosure and may not bite when he gets used to it .

I use one called Oz Purple Night and i love it. I'd suggest you have a look at it.

That might not be necessary though if its still warm at night where you are, just in the cooler months.

Not a bad idea just after eating, but as TX-III said its not really necesary the rest of the time.

I usually have my heatmats on 24/7. But the last couple of weeks it's been stinking hot out my way (western Sydney) so I turned them all off about three weeks ago. After last night I'm thinking about putting them back on again.

I left my mac for about a week & she was abit flighty to get out at first, striked a few times and bit once, but if you put your hand in a cup and go over her head i found i could pick her up without getting attacked, yet she is only 25/30cm though, not sure how big yours is.
But as soon as I got mine out, she is great, never striked since the first time i got her out.
