is 6 hides enough?

hey i have a 7 week old coastal and he is about 50 cm. i have him in a 2 foot L by 1 foot W by 1.5 foot H...Is this still to big even though i have six hides for him? I was told that they get stressed out in big enclosures

If he is still eating then it will be fine. If he stops eating then you need to put him back into a smaller enclosure.

I disagree with alex_c.... depends on your layout, how often people walk past, how often it's disturbed etc.... it's not a hard and fast rule.

Have you got a picture of your enclosure?
I would guess that 6 is enough but depends on how safe your animal feels...and not on numbers of hides.
ie. are the hides small enough that it touches all sides of it when it is inside?

I've got my baby Bredls (same size) in 900 x 450 x 600mm enclosures with 3 appropriately-sized hides, branches and a vine (for 1 of them). The enclosure is in an area with little traffic. The male uses the hides, but the female just hangs out on her branches most of the time. They seem fine and are eating well. They get out and explore at night, plus have never struck at the glass, etc. I think it just depends on the animal and the situation.
