Had a call from a mate today, he tells me that he has broken his record for the number of baby rats from 1 litter.
His previous record was 23.
The litter yesterday was 24..............can anyone come close to that???
I've told him that he has to give up feeding them steroids........ |

ive 18 and 19,but wanted to see if i could get 20 but no luck as they both went back to around 12 at a time.

I seem to always get 16-18 but a few almost always dies so average ends up being 12 or so.. |

The most I have had was 22, average around 14-16. A friend who works at the Sydney eye hospital, where they breed rats, said the biggest litter they had ever had was 32 from a pair of supers. That's a lot of babies.......LOL

When I kept rats as pets I had 2 females, 1 had a litter of 22 and the other had 23.

mine seem to have 14 which they raise to weaners quite easily. i am yet to top the 20 mark
