Is this normal beardie behaviour?

Just wondering if this is normal beardie behaviour?

Tonight, we were feeding Phoenix some bok choy when a piece fell into her water dish. Being the little piglet that she is, she dived right after it (copping a mouthful of water in the process). But then she put her mouth down into the water and drank... and drank.. and drank. She was drinking for ages and it was so weird - she was kind of sucking the water up but with her mouth closed - the same way a horse would drink from a trough. Afterwards her belly was all full of water and squishy hehe. I've just never seen a beardie drink from a water dish in that way Perhaps she was just trying to wash her pinkie mouse down with a cool beverage?

On a side note, after her drink she climbed right into the water dish for a swim. She had her front legs out, paddling madly at the water. You can see bits of bok choy floating in the water, lol. She's such a little grot - and guess who has to clean up after her? Oh well, luckily for her we love her to bits!

And while I'm getting snap-happy, here's a cute pic of her snoozing. I love the little grin. And the beautiful orange colour - looking at the two pics, you'd hardly know it was the same dragon!

She is lovely!

And you would be amazed at the antics they get up to, mine is a 6 year old male who goes nuts inside if he needs to poo and will wait until we take him outside to his outdoor cage, raining or not, and then within 5 mins does a poo! a house trained lizard, hehehe ever heard of that?

So I think yours is ok, looks cute in the dish, and such a wonderful pic of her sleeping, don't they just look soooo prehistoric!

That is very normal, the feeling of the water, more than the sight of it, trigger's them to drink.

Haha yeah, the little front legs were paddling away like crazy! My partner said, "We'll have to get her a bigger water dish so she can have a proper swim".

Good idea! Hahaha, very cute. Wouldn't mind a beardie (among so many other things...)
