Jungle Pythons

Thanks people. those pics don't do either of them justice either (especially the female) They both look heaps better than those pictures in the flesh.

Im totally rapt in these guys (which came from southern X reptiles.. who in my opinion have some of the best looking jungles around)

Nice jungles Colin,I quite like the flecking in the black ,starting to get similar in a way to some jag colours, very nice specimens!!!southernx produce some absolute stunners and it's very hard to get true colour to show in pics,i find night times with flash or a light behind the subject your photographing brings out closest to true colour for me.I have a couple of pairs from the same line and bred one pair this season but only got 3 eggs and none made it so i'm expecting a bumper crop next season.Just in case you didn't know this line being Athertons grow quite large,HUGE actually in comparison to your smaller stockier and more highly strung rainforest types and stay nice and clean and many hold great colour as adults.Yours should be starting to look really nice at 12 mths and should colour up more and look their best around the 2 year old mark, good luck with them....cheers

Jungle Pythons

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Both the male and female in the above pics are 12months of age (as of Jan 2006) and each shed look better and better. Will be interesting to see how they finally colour this time next year at 2 years of age.

Diane & Simon Stone from Southern X Reptiles (in my opinion) have some of the best hatchlings around in any species, and are the nicest people to deal with as well. No matter how much I"ve hounded them via email and phone, they are always happy to help, offer advice or answer my queries. And their snakes have always been top shelf and of exceptional quality as far as I"ve experienced.

Any chance you could get pics showing the head pattern on the last animal? That line has a reduced head pattern trait that some inherit and some don't such as your first pic doesn't have the reduced head pattern just like this girl which at 3 believe it or not is still looking better each shed, actually they tend to look better a couple of weeks after a fresh shed rather than straight after for some reason, this line throws some incredible fluro like colours of golds and yellows but as with any jungles not all colour up as i have a black and ivory type coloured one from the same line also which will still produce nice offspring.
