RE: keeping together

You are better of keeping hatchies seperate if they are. If they are adults you could keep them together, but feed seperately. You are best keeping them seperate all the time if you can.

RE: keeping together

I actually keep hatchlings together. But once they are yearlings i think its best to seperate them permanently. If you cant then seperate them for feeding and keep an eye on them for about 20 minutes after re-introducing them.

RE: keeping together

Personally, I've kept spotted pythons (siblings) together for a few years now without problems, since they were hatchlings.. Providing they are the same size, it is usually ok, I think, but........ there have been comments made about cannabalism on occassions, so you have to live with that risk.

RE: keeping together

Its not advised (should only put snakes together during breeding and then seperate them after breeding). but its up to u this is JMO.

RE: keeping together

I keep the two 2 year old Darwins i brought together as they have been done so since they were hatchlings and then get along great. Both coil up with each other and haven't had any problems. I probably won't keep any of my others together tho.
I have a related question tho, would people leave a pair that lives together, still together after they mate and while the female is gravid?

RE: keeping together

My male Bredli has a dud bit on the end of his tail where the female decided to have a chew on it.
Playwell, there is plenty of documented cases of cannabalism, you'll find most people who've had problems are sick of telling people about it and being told they are wrong because "I've done it for years and never had a probelm" so they will likely not post to this thread.
