Life span of an escapee

Our children's has been on her self guided tour of the house since late February. Since she is a juvie I'm not sure how long I should hold out hope for? She escaped in the kitchen and I found that there is this huge gap above the skirting board under then oven that leads to under all our kitchen cupboards! not to mention the gap where the dishwasher pipes go into the cupborads and then away into the wall. I have left out small dishes of water for her in the hope that she is still around and done the food and heat mat thing, the flour thing etc but still no sign. How long do you guys reckon that she would be able to survive cause she was only a juvie???

RE: Life span of an escapee

I had a juvie childreni disappear for months. When I found her again she actually looked to be in perfect health. I have no idea what she was eating, or where she was drinking, but she was taking good care of herself!

Goodluck. :-)

That is an impossible question to answer, to many things depending. If a large rat found it, it would not last long at all, If it could find some water it may live a year but it is very hard to say.

RE: Life span of an escapee

I am sure it would be fine,

I rememebr once we lost a blue tounge in our kitchen, but my wife never gave up hope and left grape out every day. But we never saw any sign of it.

6 months later he came wlking out of his hole in the wall happy as larry.

But he had lost a little weight

Theoretically it should be able to survive for a while considering how long they can go without food for in the wild. Hope you find it

I lost a 4-5 foot coastal carpet about 6 months ago and still no sign.
Unless someone stole him i think he is out rubbing shoulders with wild snakes somewhere

RE: Life span of an escapee

When I was 10 i lost the first snake i ever owned. It was a childrens python, about a foot long. I kept it in the back shed and it squeezed out of a vent one day. Every so often i dropped a couple of fuzies into the shed and two years later i found her again crammed up, entangled in the backing of a fridge. it just goes to show, just keep lookin.

RE: Life span of an escapee

we had a spotty on the lam for 1.5 months, pulled everything apart and didnt find him, did all the right things as you have done, food heat his fav water dish etc nothing, then one day the wife saw him in the outlet of the downpipe just curled up in the sun outside (he cage was inside on the deck at the other end and side of the house, and its a 2 level house and he was upstairs) so dont give up and keep looking, you never know!
