Light Cages

G'Day
Had a go at making my own light cages. Here's the results.
The white piece will have bolts glued in position and then stuck to enclosure ceiling. Nuts will hold the cage in place.
Does anyone have suggestions or see any problems doing it this way?
How does everyone else attach the cage to the enclosure?
Just curious.
Cheers
Craig

12mm angle = $2.50 metre
5mm wire/mesh = $5 metre

I have a similar set up in a few of my enclosures. It makes changing heating or lighting globe very easy. Great job by the way,

Cheap, easy light cages

You cut the actual corner out of your enclosure, so you end up with a three sided cube.
Measure your lights etc, make up the cage as the other three sides to the cube.
Put the wire three sided cube in the enclosure and nail it to the end grain of the enclosure. With fibro, or small flat headed nails.
If you cut the wire so its in a "L" shape you only need one piece of angle to cover sharp bits.
Youll be surprised how strong this method is. Use maxi bond to glue the angle in place.
Then put back the corner you cut out of the enclosure and use the side panel for access into your lights. Or the top panel, whatever suits you depends on wether you stack your enclosures.
Really good for ven's, as you can change the lights in a hurry and can not get bitten, your not actually in the enclosure.
Hope this helps you.

Give me some measurements and I could put something together. Freight may be a bit expensive for you though, Dean.
Cheers

Easy and quick to change globes, it has two small brass bolts/screws that go straight into the top. Unscrew, replace globe, and re-screw less than a minute to change a globe. The enclosure was made/converted by me used to be a TV cabinet. My first go but I will be doing more, was easy and fun and will be adding extras to next one.
