Question Lighting?

ok i have a 3ft tank setup housing 2 beardies,

i have a 2fT UV tube hooked up to a timer (12hrs on 12 hrs off)
and a infared 100W bulb on a thermostat set at appropriate temp and also on a timer (12 hrs on 12 hrs off)

i was just wondering tho if i wish to watchmy animals at night with a faint sort of light wat would be the best way to do it?

~i dnt wanna yturn on the UV as in the wild they dnt get UV at night and dnt rlly need it.
~i dont wanna turn on the heat as in the wild they dont get heat at night~

now i no u may say "in the wild there isnt rlly light at night either so y do u want that"... but i just want something faint that aLuminates the tank ever so slightly just so i can watch them scurry around without disturbing there sleep patterns or temps!

HOW SHOULD I GO ABOUT THIS?

I was literally wondering the same thing at the same time!!!!

Just brought my first Beardie home (thanks OuZo), and was thinking that since I am a bit of a night owl, it would be cool if I could have a mild light that I could watch my little guy after work.

try a red/blue party light globe though it will give off some heat bt fine for viewing or try the economy dark globes from the herp shop.worth a try.

They really don't do a lot after dark, other than sleep that is.

Put a desk lamp next to the enclosure with a blue party globe in it, then just switch it on when you want to look at them.

beardies tend to prefer a bright tank during the day, i use the cheap reflector globes from coles 4 heat.

as asis said, they dont really do anything @ night other than sleep.

i know the red lights disturb their sleep, havent tried other colourd globes.

mine sleep on a bean bag covered with a towel,..when i wanna see em i just flip back the covers and watch em snoozin,...

light at night will disturb their sleep and if they are newies or hatchies that can cause them to stress so i guess you could watch that... however in saing that, if its just light so as you can see them slightly , the fish tank lights (black light) (sideways ) so they reflect of the wall seem to not bother them too much but just make sure they can choose to leave the light completely if its bugging them
