Cool lighting help please

i have had my snake now for six weeks and i have gone through two globes and one ceramic white the globes were 150 watt basking globes so what i want to know does anyone know of any good globes to use or did i just get the occasional dud ones the globes were $55.00 each so they were not the cheap ones any help appreciated

return them with a reciept!, also check your fusebox, you may have some bad wiring! i have experienced this! a good way to test is to run an extension cord from another point in another room and use that for a week or two, if no problems incur you have a bad powerpoint/fuse!

I agree with dragon_tail. Also, do you run your lights through a pulse thermostat? They are notorious for making bulbs blow before their time. Dimming thermostats work better with bulbs.

i have a pulse thermostat and it blows globes like it's a goddam hobby.

i'll be getting a dimmer soon.

Agreed. Defnitly check your fuse box. Interestingly enough though, I've been getting a really good life span out of URS heat lights, and theyre about $15.00 each!

i think some bulbs are just dodgy,...i generally get 10 shipped to me @ a time,,....some last 4-5 days, some last 2-3 months,..same batch, same manufacterer, same light fitting (no thermostat atttached just for the record)

i have a digital thermostsat i dont know if it is a pulse or not but was thinking of going for one of those microclimate ones

i dont think there will be anything wrong with your set up, please run an extension cord from another room first...ill bet my bottom dollar that its the point

If it was only the globes you could understand them blowing frequently, but you say it was a ceramic that went as well? seems odd, what sort of ceramic was it?

i have i have 5 enclousers and i use exoterra day glow lights, not with a termostat and i am the same as Chris, so last for months and others only for a day, i went threw 3 lights in one week once, all on different days!

micoclimates made in england if you want something good you have to pay for it .Try a point not on the same wall , other side of house cheers and good luck as 55$ a pop is no fun.
