Hi guys any ideas or thoughts on using living plants in your enclosures.... i mean with the high heat an Uv light they are the perfect enviroment for many plants i.e. ferns....
anyway over to you just looking for thoughts thats all

Big pythons are supossed to be murder on live plants, my waters have even broken plastic plants.
BUt the main problem would be bacteria in the soil which may cause health problems.

i have several one coastal carpet, one diamond, a pair of darwins and two beardies (all in seperate cages of course)

I've got a beardie and i'm wanting to put some spinifex in his enclosure...anybody used it before? Can it harm the dragons? Will it grow in red desert sand?

i had a chinese water bamboo in my juvie diamond's enclosure - he luved it cos it was strong enuf to hold him up. it kinda died tho but that was probly due to me not watering enuf rather than the tank environment
i have trouble keeping plants alive...animals yes, plants NO

beardies eat any plants dead or alive. when i put in some fakes he attacked them. and spinifex has to have all the tips trimmed or it pokes the beardies eyes, or so ive heard
