Live Turtle Food

i'm looking for something other than fish to feed my turtles.
possibly something i can keep in a separate tank and feed them to the turtles when i want to.
thinking of sea monkeys (brine shrimp)
thought of crickets but have been advised that wasnt good for turtles so thats out.
what do others use? or does anyone have any good ideas?

i also found this regarding your cricket delema

Can O' Crickets

Ideal for lizards, "water turtles", snakes, amphibians, birds, or any pet that enjoys fresh foods. Preserved using a unique cooked in the can cooking process that locks in the flavor and freshness.

so i guess crickets are ok

How about breeding some small snails? there's a link somewhere that is great... maybe google is. dif types of snails that are good sources of calcium etc and are easy to breed. I was thinking of doing this

my plan now thanks to ur suggestions guys (thanks) is to get some worms of some sort (any suggestions which type would be best) and grow them
does any one know why they (the worms) shouldnt live off manure? does that include compost, or is compost ok?

I don't know about manure and stuff but I looked after the school's axolotl's for two weeks and that went crazy for blood worms!

Bit off topic but tomato, tomato, potato, potato, turtle, axolotl!
(think thats how the saying goes and if uve never heard of it, it must be pommy, lol)

Thats a cute turtle you have there.
I feed mine live guppies and occasionaly it gets to eat live wood roaches. ( the dumb wood roaches that think the water is a good safe haven from the water dragons.) If there is a pond near by guppies are great. They are entertaining while they are alive,,,and good food when the turtle decides to eat them.

i know its not a big meal but, if you have any outdoor ponds you can catch the mosquito larvae and put that in. its supposidly very nutritious
