I just saw this lizard sunning itself before the sun was setting a couple mins ago. I'm not up on my lizard characteristics so species anyone? Shortly after the photos he jumped into the water and darted off underwater like an eel. I didn't see him come up anywhere.

And the funniest animal behaviour I've seen for a while. Sunday afternoon while feeding bread to a couple of resident ducks in the canal a smallish eel appeared and decided to chase the 2 ducks round for about haf an hour. Whenever they'd stop to pick up the brad from the water he'd try and have a nip at them. They just kept going round in circles. It was great entertainment for a while. Had us in stitches.

We have a couple live right out the back. One is 3-4 ft long at least, this little one and a bubba about 1ft that we've seen so far. The big one lives in a pipe between at the fence line of out next door neighbour

Oh wow now i know!
