Lost!!

It's feed day here at the zoo, lol. About lunch time we went to get our Childrens Pythons out to feed them and one is missing!!! We've ripped the house apart to no avail. She was there late last night and gone this morning. The really strange thing is, Bruce, the other one wouldn't feed and looks like he'd already had one. Nice big lump in his belly.
Do you think it's possible he ate her? I'm still clinging to the hope she'll wiggle out from somewhere.

RE: Lost!!

Not looking good bouncer. If they were housed together, how would one get and not the other??? I hope for your sake that one did escape and didn't get eaten by the other one. Was there much difference in their size?

RE: Lost!!

The bump in the one that's left isn't that big that I'm positive he's eaten. But he is normally a great feeder and didn't touch his meal today.
The enclosure they are in is a fish tank with a custom made wood top. We caught one getting out before so put soft tape around the wood in an attempt to seal the gap. But after looking at it, there are still spots there she could have squished through. They were both the same size, 40cm long.

RE: Lost!!

If they were both the same size there would be a sizeable lump in her belly, I have not known of childreni eating each other, but anything is possible though.

I think you may be right. We pulled Bruce out and straightened him out as much as we could and there's a definite lump there.

I suppose there would be a long lump not a distinct bulge that you would get with a rat .
What snakes are known for eating their mates ?
