Lucky!!!!!

How's this for luck?

I am woken up this morning to 'come and have a look at a snake in a tree out the front of the house'. I wander out, still trying to focus, as you do when you come out of a deep sleep, and see this python in the branches of a tree. The local snakes here are either Coastal carpets, and lots of them or the occasional Dendrelaphis puntulata (Common Tree snake). So I am looking at this snake and thinking, this isn't a coastal, those markings are totally different, it is a morelia for sure, but..... I then recognised the snake as 'Penny', my 10 month old Bredli, but what is she doing there?

I raced inside to find I had not closed her enclosure properly last night and the sliding glass door was ajar about an inch! (A few too many beers).

So Penny had her adventure cut a little short and was returned to her enclosure with the door securely shut behind her.

How lucky was that?

I found a small goanna in my yard the other day (I live in the middle of the rainforest), somehow mangaged to catch it, put it in a holding cage till I took photos, thought I'd better check mine and make sure it wasn't an escape. It had got out of the tank, no idea how, out of the shed, through the house and outside and by pure luck I found it and caught it.

Lucky you!! I wish we had wild snakes around here, or lizards. We just get the occasional skink.

All you have to do is give the pythons some beer also That way they won't care about escaping - unless you try to give the XXXX.

The crazy thing is Bubba, there is a lock, one of those alligator style ones, ahd I locked it but someone left about an inch of the door open.

I think that is a good idea Dame Jaquie, I think I will do just that.

The mad part is the girls had been out on the verandah for quite some time, and she came down into the tree next to them while they were sitting there.
