Lumps on new snake beneath the skin?

Hello, i have recently acquired a new snake and it has lumps under its skin, i have been told a few different things about these, that they are worms or something similar, is this true? And how do i get rid of these? And have also been told these only occur in wild snakes, so does this mean i bought a wild snake under licence?
Regards
Nath

Take a good close up picture of them and someone here may be able to help you identify them.
Have you asked the breeder about them?
You should take it to a vet I think.

Photos would help.

Also the type of snake will make a difference here. For example, if this is a green tree snake that has possibly been fed frogs, then yes, it could be skin worms, (not a big deal and easily taken care of in most cases). However, if this is a carpet python, kept in bad conditions, you could have a blister disease, (ultimately, if left untreated, can become systemic and be fatal).

So, what type of snake is it ?

Its a diamond python, and is kept in real good conditions, always clean and neat and tidy with clean water, i am not sure what conditions it was kept in pryor to me getting it, the seller came to me, but am sure it was good conditions there too as he is a big breeder..A mate that also has alot of herps told me it is skin worms

Does it have dried crusty spots on it, or scarring, or just the lumps ?

No, just the lumps, i would post a photo, but last time i tried that, the photo was so massive, it made the page massive and everyone had to scroll across and down to see what it was, that was my enclosure that time.....

Could be anything from a parasite to scar tissue to a tumour.
You really need to get it to a Herp Vet, I reckon David Vella is the best one in Sydney.Phone 9572 6854

NCHERPS is right mate. It could be any number of things ranging from the enclosure being either too damp or dirty (i'm not suggesting your enclosure is but did you see the enclosure it lived in previously?) or parasites (worms etc..) abcesses or tumors or even burns (again are your heat sources shielded? if yours are then were the heat sources in the previous enclosure shielded?) I agree with NCHERPS though i suggest you see a reputable vet ASAP.

As Wrasse said! But i would consider this as well
I got stung buying a wild caught python that had been laundered
through the licence system. It had a skin worm that is from eating frogs. As detailed it isn't a big problem (unsightly if anything). It is however wise to get a vet check to be sure.
