The August meeting of the Macarthur Herp Society is this Friday night.
When: 17th August, 7:30pm
Where: Bradbury Community Centre (behind the Bradbury Inn)
The Parkway, Bradbury (next to Campbelltown, NSW)
Topic: "Captive care of Blue-tongued Skinks"
Speaker: Ryan Leahy
2nd Speaker: Peter Johnson will also be giving a presentation on "DIY Foam Incubator"
Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting. For non-members there's a $2 entry fee to help cover the cost of hall hire.
After the meeting, those of us old enough will visit the pub next door to discuss herpetology and other interesting topics.

This week Ryan will be talking about captive husbandry of Blueys and then Pete will be discussing making an incubator...
...and then, depending on how old you are, we will go to the pub

|  | Subscriber | Join Date: Jun-05 Location: Sydney Age: 43 | | | | Well firstly, the incubator that we make on the night will be for sale for whatever cost the materials are so that will be a bargain for anyone that thinks they will have their first clutch of eggs this season.
ALSO....... if you think you may be having yoru first clutch (and I know people rang me in panic's last year cause they got them when they didn't excpect them) the come along and learn about incubators and incubating eggs.
The incubator discussion will show how to make a simple esky incubator and then show some more complex designs using fridges.
We will also show how to place the eggs in vermiculite and will have vermiculite available for sale. We will bascially cover things like temperature dependent sex determination, humidity, incubation time variations and some good books on incubating eggs.
And add to that that Ryan will show off a complete collection of Australian Blueys.
