On the topic of ACT laws
can anyone buy long neck turtles in the ACT without a permit
and also does anyone know if there are any size restrictions in the ACT on turtles
eg in melb turtles have to be ten cm accross the shell

Does anyone have a copy of the paperwork for the enclosures that were handed out a few meetings ago...?
I think it had measurements and stuff for HMR and glass...?

thanks | ACT has made the eastern long necked turtle exempt from licensing. That means anyone can buy one from anywhere within the ACT. Its like walking into a pet shop and picking a goldfish!! ( im not suggesting this is a good thing).
Because you dont need a permit at all there are no size restrictions, in fact no restrictions at all.
Mind you all you NSW's people need to beware, you still need permits and an import license and all.
