I've already made a couple of prototypes which have worked out to about 6 dollars a piece. Do many people make their own? I'm just waiting for the final piece of my snake hook to arrive from ebay then I'll post pics to see what you think. When I post pics, if anyone is interested, I'll tell them how they can make their own snake hook for around 5 dollars in a big city and 6 dollars in a rural town like Alice.
If anyone has home made snake hooks, I'd be interested in seeing pics.
Thanks...

It was only a temp one untill I got to a pet shop that actually had a proper hook.
Sorry no pics but |

It's hard getting golf clubs here and welding experience is also necessary. Do you have any pics?
Gee I wish I could weld

what size elapids is it for?

You don't need to weld, use an epoxy glue to fix the metal rod into the shaft of the golf club.
I also made some up out of fencing wire and dowel for the little snakes.

How do you handle elapids?

sorry, but i dont know what answer your expecting... | Do you put your hands straight into their enclosures and pick them up. I'm sure you'd end up in hospital numerous times if you were to try that. Surely you must lift them out initially with a hook of some description...

im very very careful with how i do it... im not just a freehandling yahoo i promise.
