The Herp Shop used to sell just the hook for people who wanted to make their own hooks. They were appropriately shaped polished stainless steel. Brian no longer stocks them, I suspect due to lack of demand.

I stand corrected. They are on the equipment page. I think perhaps the picture got removed when the Herp Shop changed supplier. I will have to hassle Brian for a pic of the new ones so I can post it.

Appropriately modified tongs can be worth their weight in gold. They have saved my skinny behind on atleast 2 occasions.

But they MUST be modified, not straight out of the box.

The paint rollers are pretty good but if you want something professional you cant go past the hooks for $9.00 @ [url]www.herpshop.com.au very durable when fastened into broom handles and are strong enough for moving rocks & branches when looking for snakes.

You can get mini paint roller frames the ones with long handles, make good small hooks.
