The fact that they're shedding doesnt mean much breeding wise, but if they shed their sperm plugs with the skin then this may mean something else. I have found that when a male matures and is ready for breeding they will shed their sperm plugs when they shed. Anyone else noticed this?

Isn't that beautiful, tourett asked what a sperm plug was and there it appears like magic, all the info you need to look for, there really isn't a better herp site anywhere!

A week or so after i started to warm my Bredli's up (maybe 5-6 weeks ago) i attempted to feed them both. The female accepted two rats and the male refused (first time ever!) as he was about to slough. I left them together and saw no action for about 3 weeks until my female also sloughed. A few days later they were going at it like rabbits and have been ever since. I would not give up yet mate. Try turning the temp up a tiny bit and give them a little time. Most people start warming their snakes up a little ahead of nature, that's why they start to mate a bit earlier than say Diamonds that are kept outside. Just my opinion...

I've had virgin females, including juveniles (less than six months old) have sloughs which looked just like that. Previously, I'd thought they were the external skin of hemipenes when I saw them on sloughs of males. I'm not sure of exactly what these things are and I must admit I haven't paid much attention to it for some years now.

Before anyone asks, yes, the gender was confirmed (when the snakes grew up and produced eggs).

I'm not trying to shoot down anyone's idea, just pointing out that I've seen indentical looking sloughs from virgin females.
